Android Telnet Client

telnet

After starting telnetd on your G1, naturally the next thing you want to do is to telnet into it. Android did not have a telnet application, so I quickly whipped up a raw telnet client. Download it from the Android Market!

Here's a direct download to the Telnet.apk.

Would love this to play a M.U.D. but I am having an issue with login.

When I enter my username the password prompt gives an error, but it's gone before I can read it.

Any chance of a link to the source? I'm trying to learn how to deal with sockets in Android and would love an example.

I wonder how to send a KeyboardInterrupt, for example, when I run ping or cat without any arguments, how could I stop the process except start another telnet connecting and kill it?

Thanks, this is just what I needed.

I left some comments. Prime issue is ANSI color for MUDs, and possibly a trigger (parser?) for text so that as a MUD admin, players or immortals can send me a trigger, my phone will vibrate/ring/notify, and I can do something about it while mobile.

Also, the ability to "send to the background" would be nice.

Connecting to my game with no problem, but getting a 'protocol mismatch' error and no login prompt when I try to get into the server.

I just tried to telnet to nethack.alt.org and it seems to connect, and just gives me these little wingdings instead of a message. I'm new to telnetting and the nethack server... anyone have an easy answer?

Hey,

I'm new to Android and am looking to develop a program that utilizes the telnet protocol. Is there any way you can make the source for this program available?

Thanks

I would also really like to take a look at the source. I don't see it on your github page... is that intentional?

How do end a telnet connection?

It skips over the password.

When I type my username and hit enter, it seemingly enters past the password automatically. Giving me an invalid user password error.

I would love to play mud too but the client won't let me log in either, is it something to do with the port?
