Klaxon 4.0 for Android

Klaxon for Android has gone through another rigorous update! This time, I integrated the new Desk Clock from Eclair (Nexus One) into the application. The result is the customizability of Klaxon that users have come to love, with a brand spanking new and polished UI.

For those of you curious how to get the Weather widget on your desk clock, Google “genie widget” for the third party application found on the Nexus One.

I love the recent improvements to Klaxon. I love that it now supersedes the dock application and that the night clock has been greatly improved. My only request is that the menu button lights on the front of the Droid be dimmed or shut off when the night clock feature kicks on. That would make this application perfect.

I recently upgraded my G1 to a new Mytouch 3G. Alot of the paid apps I've purchased aren't showing up in the market now. Its something to do with the security settings on the app. Have you heard about this? Is there a way to fix it? I'd like to have this app back so I can use it for getting up on Monday :)

Hello. I bought Klaxon through the SlideME appstore since payed apps are not yet available in Sweden. How would I go about getting this new version? Mine seems to be really old (2.2 something)...

This app looks awesome. Wondering if this has any widgets before I buy. Thanks!

my g1 looks lame compared to this. when are they going to ship the new bling on the old suxx0r?

I don't think the G1 is going to be upgraded to 2.1. Cyanogen 2.1 to the G1, but it took major hackery to make all the necessary bits fit into /system. The phone doesn't come with enough on board flash.

Still too bright at night, I cover the 4 buttons on my Milestone but wish the background (when dim) was completely black with red clock (configurable color/brightness).

The alarm names are too short and it would be nice to be able to order them, but like the ramping alarm so buying it :-)

Hey - I don't know if you've fixed it but there's a bad security behavior Klaxon exposes (or maybe is guilty of). I experience this on my 2.1 Nexus One, but suspect it's Klaxon:

1) have device set to require an unlock pattern
2) configure Klaxon to have an alarm go off at some time, wait for the alarm
3) Snooze
4) click the "Home" button

You now have access to the device. Can you fix this? Thanks for any comments!

Alarm was reliable and worked great, until I upgraded my HTC Eris from 1.5 to 2.1. Now alarm doesn't always go off and there doesn't seem to be a pattern as to why it sometimes doesn't work. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Can we get the color options that the CM 5.0.8 uh, OEM clock has?

It'd be nice if dev would respond to questions or concerns about his apps. Why even bother with this blog or email address if you are just going to ignore us! Please fix your app.

I keep looking for Klaxon 4.0 (or any version) in Android Market, but it does not seem to be there. How does one go about obtaining Klaxon 4.0 ?

Thanks

I would love to use Klaxon, unfortunately Android Market does not permit paid apps in my country yet.
Any other way of getting the premium version?

I purchased Klaxon from the market a few weeks ago. The Media buttons (slideshow, music, etc.) don't seem to do anything. Why are they there? It would be cool if you could wake up to a slideshow or something.

What the! I didn't realize you coded Klaxon. I've been using this since it came out. The flip to silence was revolutionary. :D Thanks for all the work. Seems like just about a third of the awesome things on my phone are directly attributable to you.

I unsubscribed... the developer is not listening here neway

Reported 2 bugs (1) Alarm silent as tried to go over bluetooth (using media stream?) and (2) It auto-snoozed! and this has been ignored. It certainly does look like the developer has gone AWOL.

Dear fellow developer,
I'm the developer of Sleep Bot Tracker Log (featured at: http://lifehacker.com/5650915/sleep-bot-tracks-logs-and-analyzes-sleep-patterns). With our latest release, we'd like to alarm clocks to integrate with SleepBot. This way, SleepBot will not have to implement its own Alarm Clock and the Alarm Clock app can track the sleep and awake time. This way both applications will be more complete and will not be competitors in the future. So far we have put up a Wiki Page for other developers to use : http://wiki.mysleepbot.com/index.php?title=Android:_API, if you are interested, please contact us back.

Best,
Edison

Hey, I'm loving Klaxon. Thanks for all your hard work. In Klaxon you have a way of dimming the screen more than the dimmest phone setting. There are a few dimming apps on the market for reading at night, but they don't dim as much as yours does and at the lowest setting my Galaxy S is still way too bright. Is there any way you could take your dimming code and turn it into a dimming app?

Hey, I've got Klaxon on my dandy rooted G2, but ever since I changed the LCD density it only occupies part of the screen. Desk clock, however, occupies the full screen. Is there any way to move code from their clock to get Klaxon to take that into account?

I was checking out Google Voice Actions and noticed when I used "set alarm for" action it said I needed a clock app that supported this function. Will you ever update Klaxon for this feature?
